Howzat for an event to raise charity cash!

STARS of the sporting and entertainment world will clash in a cricket match to support our £1 million Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) appeal.

The Bunbury Cricket Club will field an all-star team to compete for the fourth time against a TCT XI - and the most famous face in the crowd will be the TCT's patron and the frontman of The Who, Roger Daltrey.

Tickets for the match, which will take place at The Old Rectory, Carlton, near Newmarket from 11.30am on Sunday, June 14, are now on sale.

A full line-up of celebrity players will be announced soon.

Last year's match featured pop star Harry Judd, from McFly, and former England player Phil Tufnell on the TCT side.

The Bunburys fielded their founder, David English, former England cricketers Devon Malcolm and Ed Giddens and New Zealand's Chris Cairns.

The match is sponsored by Sawston-based telecommunications company Excell Group and hosted by Robin and Willow Wylie. All funds raised will go towards our TCT appeal and the England Schools Cricket Association.

Mr Daltrey said: "This is a great day out for all the family but most importantly a way to raise money for two very important charities.

"Six young people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK - at Teenage Cancer Trust we are striving to ensure every one of these young people has access to a specialist teenage cancer unit."

Darren Strowger, Excell chairman, said: "Excell are delighted to be supporting this incredibly worthwhile event, and would love to see as many people come along as possible to help raise money for the TCT's Addenbrooke's appeal."

Gates open at 11am, tickets are £10 for adults and children go free, but donations are welcome.

There will also be live music, children's entertainment, food and craft stalls, a licensed bar, a raffle and auction with a guest appearance from the BBC Antiques Roadshow presenter, Lars Tharp.
