London Astoria cancels its last-ever party
Iconic venue is forced 
to close sooner than expected

One of London's most iconic venues, the Astoria, has been forced to cancel 
its final party, which was to be hosted by Ibiza's Manumission club.

January event was set to feature several big-name acts who wanted to say 
farewell to the venue, but Transport For London, who are demolishing the venue 
to make way for the Crossrail, reportedly served 28 days notice to vacate the 
property just before the holidays, leaving organisers short of time to arrange 
the party.

“It is ridiculous that such an important venue is being 
demolished for ‘economic progress’," club hosts Mike and Claire said in a

Despite the closure of the Astoria, Manumission is set to start a 
world tour of clubs, including a "special appearance" in London later this
