> I picked up a copy of the book Twilight of the Gods by Tony Klinger today.
Is there any clue in the book as to why the author chose this title?
"Twilight of the Gods" just seems odd. You wouldn't read that title and know that it was about The Who. It doesn't relate to a line in a Who song or anything (does it?).
The only explanation seems to be that The Who should be considered "Gods", and that this period (late 70s) is their "twilight years". But that doesn't sound too flattering, and ignores the fact that these "twilight years" have stretched on for another 30 years so far.
Or was there some other meaning, hidden in the book's text somewhere?
Thanks for the review, btw. Its good to know that I can give this book a miss.
