Letter: Who, Where

In your Sept. 25 article today regarding the whereabouts of Pete
Townshend as it pertains to the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
concert in Cary, it is mentioned that he probably wasn't in Cary "or
even the Western hemisphere." Rather, according to his personal
assistant, Pete was in Richmond, England.
Assuming
we are talking about the Richmond in North Yorkshire, it lies
approximately at 51 degrees 26' 0" North, 0 degrees 19' 0" West, which
places it to the west of the Prime Meridian. Or in other words, in the
Western hemisphere.

Pete would have to travel about 70 miles to
the east to reach the Eastern hemisphere, which would place him in the
North Sea. Brrrrr!
