Well, I always thought it was, "I *fought* for my meals."  At least
that's the way Daltrey always sings it.  Maybe that led to the "farm"
confusion.

And it's "Don't *braise" your eye...."  As in browning meat or veget-
ables in fat & simmering in a covered pan with a little water.  At least
that's the way Pete always sings it.
