Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend at a GlanceBio: Daltrey was born in London, March 1, 1944. Now lives in East Sussex, England.

Career highlights: The epochal scream at the end of "Won't Get Fooled Again." Pioneered the mike-twirling, bare-chested style of singing that defines classic rock. In 2004, he was created a Commander of the British Empire.

Career lowlights: The role of Vlad in "Vampirella," a low-budget horror flick from 1996.

Bio: Townshend was born in Chiswick, England, May 19, 1945. Now lives in London

Career highlights: An assortment of mid-'60s singles, including "My Generation" and "Substitute"; albums including "Who's Next," and two rock operas, "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia."

Career lowlights: "Lifehouse," a sci-fi rock opera with a baffling plot (savages, battles, people fed entertainment intravenously) that was supposed to end with "a kind of celestial cacophony," as Townshend once put it. No one could follow the story;the project was abandoned.
