Superbit is DVD for ultra-nerds.

These DVD have all the menus / bonus features stripped off (perhaps put onto a separate disk.)  Every "bit" of the DVD is then filled with nothing else except the film.  The idea is, the video quality can be improved by dedicating every bit of the disk to just storing the film.

Not many people could tell the difference,
