X-clusive: The Who Confirm Glastonbury (Sort Of)
While no bands have been officially confirmed to play this years Glastonbury as yet, Pete Townsend has told Xfm that it looks very likely that The Who will be playing
The list of bands rumoured to be playing Glasto 2007 continues to expand, with The Smashing Pumpkins, The Killers, Razorlight, Kasabian, The View, Bjork and Bruce Springsteen all touted to be performing.
In addition The Who have been rumoured to be playing (most likely headlining the Sunday night on the Main Stage) ever since their comeback shows last summer.
Now, speaking to Xfm, Who guitarist Pete Townsend has broken his silence about the festival, and pretty much confirmed that theyll be playing.
I dont know if were allowed to say, he revealed, But let me put it this way, I think they want us to do it, and we want to do it. So we shall see.
I this its about whether or not theyll give me space to park my tent.
As previously reported, this year, organiser Michael Eavis will be setting up a pre-sales registration system, where punters who want tickets will have to supply their contact details and a passport photo to make life as difficult as possible for ticket touts.
Concert goers will need to register between February 1 and February 28 on-line at a special registration site (which will go live on February 1).
The full official line-up will be released in the July 2007 issue of Q magazine on sale on June 1 and Glastonbury 2007 will take place (subject to license) from Friday June 22 to Sunday June 24.
