>I wish John was with us too. But he had another
>lifestyle that he chose with his own will and it killed him.
Wow.
I've heard Pete say it, but not until reading the same thing written by a
fan, did it hit home.
Ya want to be pissed at someone, Scott, be pissed at John.
Wow.
I think this is the first time that I've really felt anger toward John.
And, the more I think about it,;....I *am* pissed at him.
You should fucking be here John!
Coke kills.
You knew it!
Fuck an a!
What the fuck were you thinking!???
>That doesn't even make sense. They loved the man more than we do. But
>they
>do have to live their lives. This isn't a movie.
Go Jon.
I'm with ya.
Hangin on every word (just got back from a party....even got us a
sitter.....feeling righ...teaous! :-)~
>Pete has said that he misses the thunder and that it can't ever be
>replaced.
Hear that Scott???
Can't *ever* be replaced (damn hard ot type right now..)!
>Who fans got far more than any other fans of any other band. And we're
>still getting it.
I've come a long way from that night on the beach in the OBX in
'89...crying.... when I didn't think I'd ever get to see them live.
Ever.
And, at that time they alreayd had a full carreer behind them!
Tel;l him Jon!
>I would rather Pete not put out filler and "jump" because of
>us.
Fuck us.
We suck.
We don't know shit.
Especial;ly Ernie.
;-)
>What comes out of him comes out of HIM. Wether it's understood or not is
>another matter.
Who gives a ratts ass if we understood.
Who are we?
>I'm realizing that when things go differently than what you're open to
>understand, out of some sort of twisted anger you lie to yourself and
>obscure the
>truth in your own mind.
Shit.
Jon's getting heavy on yo ass, man.
>Instead of trying to understand, it's like you're
>trying to not understand.
Understand????
Do ya??
>Like many things in life, this isn't a black and
>white issue.
Awww. Why ya got to bring race into it?
> Pete isn't to blame for John's death and he's not to blame for
>continuing to live in spite of it.
And therein lies the poop,.... scoop.
>If you don't like the album you just don't like it.
Just *don't* like it.
>But to accuse Pete of
>being glad that John is dead with that sarcasm? What good is that? It's
>not
>true.
Roger and John writing the songs for the nest Who album?
Come on!
Anyone here excited at that prospect?
When I heard that I was like "Pete, get on the stick."
Roger can't write songs for The Who. No discussion.
John's songs are nice, but honestly....even though I love the man and his
bass playing and also his songs, they are no where close to the caliber of
Pete's writing.
Not even in the same ball park.
So....Pete starts to write.
He tries.
He struggles.
He gets a couple together, but he's conflicted.
I'm sure he's dealing with all the same emotions that he dealt with back in
'81 when he last wrote for The Who.
Then......John dies.
Deal. Everyone.....including Pete and Roger............have to deal.
Now where?
Things are different.
The dichotomy is drastically changed.
As Pete *himself* wrote.....It is no longer The Who.
But, in a way....it is.
Pete can do what he's comfortable with and still it would be part of
Whoness.
I see no crime.
I see a man rolling with the punches.
I see a man rolling with *more* than his share of punches over time.
And we're supposed to rail on him now because what *he* wanted to do doesn't
fit out petty agenda?
Not I.
I let him live....like he sees fit.
LONG...........Live................The................Who.
