>I agree, Ernie. Bottom line is Pete waited until after John
>had died to make a new studio record. Nineteen years
>wasted (1983 - 2002) because Pete couldn't get his mental
>shit together.

Those years weren't wasted. It's because of those years that we get the
Pete -and Roger we have today. I wish John was with us too. But he had another
lifestyle that he chose with his own will and it killed him. That is a
fact.

Earlier, Pete touched all kinds of things too, but Pete learned the lesson.
Do you realize how much strength that takes? Now we get to hear them
singing about still being here. With us!

>Maybe we should make the anniversary of Entwistle's death
>a celebration, because it freed The Master & provided him
>the comfort to work on a studio project with Daltrey again.

That doesn't even make sense. They loved the man more than we do. But they
do have to live their lives. This isn't a movie.

>Another bottom line is that the live shows & studio output
>are weaker without Entwistle. Pete may not want to allow
>that fact into his swelled head....but it's true.

Pete has said that he misses the thunder and that it can't ever be replaced.
Numerous times. He wrote at least one song about him. A lovely song with
power and anger. But I can only think of two songs right now: Give Blood and
It's Never Enough.

>Who fans missed out on a bunch of fine musical dining be-
>cause of Pete's schizophrenic fickleness. Instead, we got
>the warmed up Stouffer's frozen dinner that is ENDLESS
>WIRE. Yippee. Long live The Who.

Who fans got far more than any other fans of any other band. And we're
still getting it. I would rather Pete not put out filler and "jump" because of
us. What comes out of him comes out of HIM. Wether it's understood or not is
another matter.

I'm realizing that when things go differently than what you're open to
understand, out of some sort of twisted anger you lie to yourself and obscure the
truth in your own mind. Instead of trying to understand, it's like you're
trying to not understand. Like many things in life, this isn't a black and
white issue. Pete isn't to blame for John's death and he's not to blame for
continuing to live in spite of it.

If you don't like the album you just don't like it. But to accuse Pete of
being glad that John is dead with that sarcasm? What good is that? It's not
true.

Jon in Mi.
