I'm obviously not doing a very good job at communicating this thought.  Let 
me try again.

No, I'm not saying John was creting the problem.  I'm saying that the fans 
had certain expectations, and once John was gone they had no choice but to 
change their expectations.  Pete was very clear in that interview that he 
wasn't sure he could deliver on those expectations.  Again...what the *fans* 
expected, not John.

Don't ask me to find the interview.  There have been so many lately, there's 
no way.
