>-Roger REALLY pissed me off by waiting until the Tommy encore to do his

>imagine if Pete waited 90 minutes to do his first windmill?

I think Roger is concerned about liability. He pulled a muscle last tour
and lost control of the mic, letting it fly into the audience. He's had
problems with it related to vision and with small stages in recent years, as
well. I'm sure he's thinking that if he's not got good control of it, then
he shouldn't be swinging it and you might as well get used to the shows
without it.

>-The new music: Mike Post Theme is legit. Good song. Roger's vocals are
>fantastic. Black Widow's Eyes I need to hear a few more times. Tea and
>Theatre is superb.

Same opinion here.

>As for Wire and Glass, the condensed version just doesn't flow properly.
>At least three times there are full stops followed by four-count clicks
>from Zak to start the next song. The abbreviated songs seem forced
>together and the opera effect is really lost. As for the music itself, it
>was very good. Sound Round and Mirror Door get thumbs up- Good stuff.
>We've Got a Hit is great, though I'm hoping that the full version has a
>Pete solo or two in it. It rocks, is full or energy, has some nice vocal
>harmonies and is catchy. I need to hear the other songs again to give a
>proper assessment. Would like to hear maybe four full songs from Wire and
>Glass instead of 6 or 7 song excerpts.

"Endless Wire" turned out to be the stand-out for me. Surprisingly, I can
already sing along with this one, and it stayed with me through the rest of
the night.

I agree the crowd lukewarm reception of this isn't completely due to the
fact it's new music. It doesn't develop any momentum, and I personally
think it suffers from lack of a definitive uplift at the end. "Mirror Door"
is a very ordinary song and doesn't give Roger anything much to work with.
Hopefully the full opera will flow better, but I don't know. It could be
just too depressive.

>Also, I AGAIN missed meeting Kevin, Jeff and others at The Harp pre-show
>gathering. I walked in around 7:15pm in full boilersuit and went to the
>main bar and the downstairs bar, but no one approached me to introduce
>themselves.

Seven fifteen was late to look for folks, Mc. I was gone way before then,
as the bar was getting really crowded and I wanted to hear the opening band.
