THE WHO IN SECRET GLASTONBURY TALKS

THE WHO are reportedly planning to headline next
year's (07) Glastonbury festival in south-west
England, and organiser MICHAEL EAVIS is already in
talks with the rockers. Guitarist PETE TOWNSHEND has
previously expressed his desire to conclude the band's
current world tour at the world famous rock event, and
Eavis is just as keen. An insider says, "Michael has
approached Roger and said he wants The Who to play in
2007. "Nothing has been agreed or signed at this
stage, but Michael has asked the question and he
hasn't been turned down. "Michael always likes to have
some kind of rock royalty at the festival and they
don't come with better credentials than The Who."
Eavis adds, "All I can tell you at this stage is
whatever rumours you've heard, they're probably all
true." Townshend has written on his website: "(The)
tour will last slightly over a year if I get my wish
to end it next year at Glastonbury. Now that will be
the show to watch. We should be warmed up by then."
