Endless Wire in hand this very minute ...

OK I couldn't wait for the drive home. I've had a play of the bonus disk.

Songs like Seeker, WAY and Mike Post are surprisingly different to the Brighton Encore CD. Which is great. Brighton was only the second night of the tour - they've really got going by the time they got to Lyon.

Greyhound Girl has some annoying background voices on it. Can't tell if this is an echo of Pete's voice or some Frenchman talking. Ruin's the song, which is annoying.

The quality of the rest of the CD is excellent. The stereo effects of the drums on WAY and WGFA need to heard through earphones to believe.

Naked Eye is the inevitable highlight. Sung very differently from any other version I've ever heard - especially the first few lines. But "different" doesn't mean "worse" - the new way of singing it sounds great. The "fast bit" doesn't sound as fast as other live versions, but Zak really nails the drums on it. 8 minutes 26 secs. Simply fantastic.

There's a fantastic surprise at the end of WGFA - a minute or two of an unlisted song! I won't spoil it for you. The crowd loved it though.

Makes you wonder why they chose this concert to include as the bonus. Did someone really listen to every record show, and choose this one? Or did they simply choose this show as the town began with the letter "L"?

And it's so nice to hear a live CD which doesn't start with "I Can't Explain", and doesn't include "Behind Blue Eyes". Remind me, what tracks were on the US DVD again...?
