"I'm still wrestling with seeing my appreciating Pino as disrespecting
John. My problem. But I did find myself approving his playing at
the shows I saw, which led me to see the current Who as a credible
band, which led me to see the John-enhanced Who as history, which
made me feel like an old fart, etc...."

I have to admit, I have been awfully impressed with Pino's bass lines AND volume so far this tour. Of course, John's style was his own, and his skill unmatchable, but I don't think anyone should feel guilt at making an obvious observation: Pino is a great bassist and his work in The Who on this tour and especially on the new songs, is damn good. This doesn't keep me from also observing that Keith and John would have taken the material from EW and taken it to the next level: a Who album somewhere in the league of WBN or WAY.
