>What I think people here forgot is that first and formost concerts are for
the local population. They aren't designed for diehard fans flying in from
all over. To most people in the Atlanta area this concert is on Wednesday
not the day before Thanksgiving. I have one friend who is thinking of going
to the show only because it is the day before Thanksgiving. It means he can
stay out late and not have to get up early to go to work the next morning.
Heh. Maybe that's what the artists and the promoters think, but I went to
see Simon and Garfunkel at Phillips Arena and no one I talked to was from
the Atlanta area. EVERYBODY in my section had flown in from somewhere else.
It's just an easy city to fly into.
Of course, onstage they think we're all Atlanteans. They say "Hello, all
you great Altanta fans! Welcome to the show!" Etc.
Hopefully you're right, Bruce. I expect lots of folks in the South US are
counting on that one.
