Went to the London show with my wife and another couple. It's their first
Who show.
We will always refer to it as the night we "Swam to the Who". It was just
pouring from when we left the car to we go to the arena. Good excuse to buy
a dry tour shirt. :-)
The band was excellent. a couple of technical glitches. Roger forgot to
start singing at the start of Mike Post Theme. so they stopped and
restarted. And again stopped and restarted. Pete was pissed now. Pete had
guitar troubles later on and poor mr pridden was running! he got it fixed
in 30 seconds so all was well. Roger also had a technical issue. one mic
stopped working and the second one was not turned on. he was pissed now
too.
The new material was received ok. having the wire and glass ep helped prep
my group for the new stuff. The old material was really well received by
the crowed. I have a friend who went to Auburn Hills the night before and
said lots of people in the crowd were complaining about new material. i
dont call them new material, i like to think of them as "future Who
classics". :-)
i still rate the quad shows of 96/97 as my personal favourites, but these
were excellent also. The boys should be proud of their performance. The
couple i brought are anxious to go with us in December to the Air Canada
Centre to see them again. i have done my duty. Spreading the word.
Lots of cool Who shirts of all vintages. Some nifty custom ones too.
I noticed the demographic seems to be a majority of 35-55 white males.
dont get me wrong, lots of cute girls, but definately an older crowd.
We're taking our 12 and 14 year old in dec. they are going to love it.
