Zak an approximation of Kenney?

Simon seemed way too "jazzy" to me. He never seemed content to just rock
out. The recent "Tommy" DVD really brought this back to me. By contrast,
Kenney was practically a drum machine. As I've mentioned before on the
list, he hits everything with the same intensity. There are almost no
accents. I always thought that Keith's dynamics were one of his
underappreciated talents. In a purely subjective sense, I was
disappointed by the '79, '82, and '89 tours, but thoroughly enjoyed the
"Daltrey Sings Townshend" tour, "Quadrophenia" (even though Pete was on
acoustic), and every tour since. The one notable difference between the
enjoyable and not enjoyable tours is Zak.

Zak isn't half the drummer Simon is, but it's all in what you want/need
from a drummer....

For a band that I would put together, Zak would be the man, but for The
Who->, all in all, Simon is the best choice, imo...
