Jon: I've watched this ITA a couple of times. I can't get over how Jack just
hops in the trailer and kind of takes over. Him volunteering to sing the
Seeker so quickly speaks to a confidence of his talent. They pulled it
off brilliantly. I love the way he changed the lyrics to "I asked
Pete Townshend..."
It's as if the baton is being passed to the next mega-quasar of music.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of either of these teams, but I
see you got my point.

Yes. You do, and I do. You remembered this detail, people
who dig Bob Seger remember it. Chevy truck buyers who
bought their trucks and think of themselves as some modern
cowboy associated the two very closely. That's why it works.

I'm not just talking about commercials here. They are film,
television and streaming video programs that run along
with this music / *themes*. This placement is a derivative of the
music video format.

Yep, I agree that it would be cool to have the artist's
name and the song title show up, but lack of this has never
stopped me from seeking out songs that I hear and like.
>why don't pete just admit it, he needs the

Everybody needs money. Let's just accept that. How much
people need or want depends on their life-style choices
and ambitions. I won't touch life-style choices, because
I don't believe that Pete lives and extravagant life, and
I base this solely on the fact that he does not have his
own zoo! :->
So, let's talk about ambitions. I'll suggest that Pete has
very large ambitions, and has funded many expensive
projects that are both ground-breaking, and at the same
time very expensive. We all benefit from these projects
so we can either fund them directly, or indirectly.
I'm willing to fund it either way if I like the artist
or the art.

This is one of the the differences between Neil Young and
Pete Townshend. I like Neil too. I like his music,
his lyrics, and a lot of his philosophy. I don't agree
that artists have to starve or be under-compensated for
their work.
>anyway, I hope you sent that letter to the person it was "dear"ed to.
I did send it to Ryan Merrill and cc'd this list. I have not heard
back from him
yet. I don't expect to. He probably has his circle of friends
that encourage
him and his writing slant. He'll understand the gist of my point in about
22.5 years - if we're lucky sooner! ;-\
