Allow me to explain. I thought it was a bit annoying when Kevin started doing this with the recent Grasshopper diaries too. It's MUCH, MUCH easier to read them directly from Pete's website.
But, you've got to consider this: Pete regularly changes his mind, and has either taken down or altered his diaries in the past. Particularly the more controversial (read: juicy) ones. So it's important for one of us to grab these diaries as soon as we can, and let then live forever in the IGTC archives. So, well done, Kevin.
(But you're spot-on about needing to trim the old posts in your reply, though.)
