Firstly, I watched the Roundhouse show, though as I was there it wasn't
a secret :-)
The Madonna show was great. I place the Who way up there, but Madonna
has been a genuine star for 21 years now (gee, some say, only 21 years!)
and an opportunity to see her perform should be taken.
There are many on this list who will testify that I have no shame or
fear about admitting my love for genuinely great female led pop music
such as Abba, Kylie, the Motown/Spector roster and Madonna, while
retaining a 41 year love for the Who's music.
And yes, Madge is one of those essentially silly British nicknames given
to a "celebrity":-)
Incidentally, I count the Pretenders among my all time favourite four
bands I collect the music of, the others being Todd Rundgren, Emerson
Lake and Palmer.
It's hurting here, knowing the P's are playing with the Who!
As to the torrent you mentioned, I noticed they omitted the Tommy
segment so if you amalgamate the BBC and torrent recordings you'll have
the whole show!
Cheers,
John
