  Pete did something like this at Indian Wells. At some point in the "Tommy" encore he came way downstage to the edge and strafed the audience with machine-gun fire, from (our) left to right. It was quite extended and the entire time he was screaming obscenities and invective like a man possessed. It was amazing to see him so into it.
