Just prior to the current Who tour (which began in June 2006) two big things happened in the webby world of petetownshend.
One, my longtime webmaster Matt Kent quit to pursue a more creative career as a photographer (visit his website to see his photos Who and non-Who).
Two, it became clear Roger Daltrey was not going to swing behind my idea to webcast Live Who shows. I pushed on until the end of the European leg, and then had to admit defeat - trying to do press, radio and TV for the new Who album and keep this website alive and the webcasting too was going to be too hard for me while I am doing such intense touring.
As reported below in Hollywood Bowls and Porridge the good news is that in Los Angeles last week there was a meeting to create a new Who website for Roger and me using the domain name www.thewho.com that has featured here for some years as what Matt called a 'microsite'.
It is time for a dedicated Who website, and Roger is quickly coming round to the idea that he can play a real part in its content and its character. We are hoping this will go up in the Holiday Season. In the meantime Ultrastar are running a great website during the tour at www.thewhotour.com, and we hope they will continue to be the hosts of whatever we go on to do after the Holidays.

This site will be redesigned shortly. Expect miracles - as soon as I can get this damned guitar off my shoulders.
