"scandal-free"?  No.

Marty Robbins wrote (and, it's widely suspected, recorded - under the pseudonym of "Johnny Freedom") some rather distastefully racist right-wing songs.  Eg: "Ain't I Right" and "My Own Native Land".

I wonder if Pete was aware of this though...?
