I think any opinion formed on a single listen (good or bad) could be called
knee-jerk.  When I read highly negative professional reviews I always wonder
how many listens the writer has given the material.  I'd hate to have to
live with my first impressions for ever.  As fans, we're willing to give our
band's music more of a chance to sink in.
