I think they're just confused. Period.
I've been traveling down in DC and visiting friends.
One, a huge Bush-ass-sucking Repub, and another, a legal advisor for
Senator Frist.
To my astonishment, they have both turned coat since the last time I saw
them (late November!).
In 5 short months, my attorney friend left The Hill and is now a
lobbyist for a pharmaceuticals company (very quick to point out that
it's a company that makes injectables, not pills. Interesting the
different shades of grey can make to some people), and the other rich
fat-cat pub. Is making statements of "He's miserable!" and "Bush is
saying one thing and doing another!" (me banging head on table...."I've
been saying that for 5 years!").
It's a lonely place when polls hit the 20's, and you don't want to be
any where near that ship.
On a positive more Who-related note.....
My Who friends in DC report that two stations in the area were talking
up the Who album, with great excitement and anticipation. Baltimore's
98 Rock, and a DC station (they didn't remember which).
"If you release it, they will come."
