My Generation 

You know there are times in one's life when you realize leaving school might 
not have been a bad idea after all. My friend David Graham and I were in the 
city going to an appointment. I miss-read the address and went to the wrong 
floor. From down the hallway we could hear young kids, couldn't have been older 
than 10 or 11, talking about rock and roll. The sign outside the door read, 
SCHOOL OF ROCK. Must be a TV show I'm guessing. David and I were this close to 
going in and sharing our lifetime's worth of rock and roll history. If there's 
one subject we could probably teach it's rock and roll 101. But we had 
something that we had to get to... 


..Murray Lerner had invited me to view the rough cut of The Who film he's 
making: My Generation - The Who's Still Who. To quote Pete Townshend, "Murray's a 
brilliant filmmaker." I was just honored to meet him and without giving 
anything away I've got to say The Who film is FANTASTIC! By far the best film to 
capture the band from the beginning right up until today. Watching it reminded 
me why I love The Who.
