Thank you all for the outpouring of good wishes and support. It's
overwhelmingly clear that you'd prefer to keep the list up and running.
So, where do we go from here? Here's how I think we should proceed.
Elect a group of list moderators, ideally 4. These 4 people would be
charged with coming up with a new set of guidelines for list behavior and
for determining what actions to take when list protocols are not followed.
The only times that I will get involved directly with "policing" the list
would be:
- direct violations of my ISPs terms of acceptable use
- anything that's against the law
- as a deciding vote when the moderators are deadlocked 2-2 with a decision
There's two things I need you, the list members, to do to show your
continued support:
- Nominate a slate of at least 6 candidates for moderator
- Vote for the moderators once a slate of candidates is finalized.
