I think you'll find that when you eliminate the flame wars lurkers will be
more willing to post without fear of having their heads bit off. This keeps
a list going. This is exactly what happened on O&S

Stop the personal attacks and name calling, it's childish. A good rule of
thumb is, "would you say that to someone's face?" It's easy to spout off
behind an email address. I can remember the early days when flame wars were
just about daily routine. At a get together in NYC (MSG Quad run) several
list members met for the first time. Many mortal enemies online got along
just fine, realized they had more in common than not with each other and
buried the hatchet.

1st offense-a "public" warning
2nd offense-temporary ban, someone said 2 weeks that's fine
3rd offense-you're gone
