Administrivia - List Closure

OK folks, this most recent incident has gotten me thinking.  Just why the 
fuck am putting any time and effort into maintaining a list from which I
derive little to enjoyment?  I swear, there are days when I feel like I'm
refereeing between my 6 yr old and my 4 yr old.  

Then we have the category of folk who know the list rules very well, but
choose to continually push the envelope.  Or those who engage in public
debate about the most ridiculous and often off-topic stuff.  Or those who
enjoy maintaining a running public quarrel with others on the list.

The time has long past since I've derived any real personal enjoyment from
the list.  Yet many of you seemed to enjoy it, so I kept it going.

I've often likened hosting this list to hosting a party in my home.  Over
the years, several of you have repaid my hospitality by puking on my couch,
drinking the good stuff when what you brought was swill, picking fights with
other guests and trying to bang the chick in the back bedroom that passed
out.

Well, party's over.  The list gets closed down for good over the weekend.
