One problem with this is that I see things in probabilities rather than in 
black and white.  Unless something has already happened, then it's never 
verifiable as a sure truth--and then there will be different viewpoints.  
Pete himself is known to be a highly unreliable source.

BTW, I found a nice little piece of lit today.  It's printed as a poem, but 
somehow I doubt if it was written that way:

The Wayfarer

The wayfarer,
Perceiving the pathway to truth,
Was struck with astonishment.
It was thickly grown with weeds.
"Ha," he said,
"I see that no one has passed here
In a long time."
