>I wasn't keeping up with the blog, but when it ended and some plans were
mentioned, I took a look. It sounded to be like the seeds of this were
planted then. Pete talked about writing music that used contributions from
the bloggers and having it culminate in a Lifehouse style concert. Have
more details been announced?
Not yet. As I understand it, these are two different things. What he
announced at the end of the novella was The Method, which entails composing
musical themes for/with members of the audience. This project will involve
the contributors to his blog and also composer and programmer Lawrence Ball
and Dave Snowdon that (apparently) Pete worked with for the Psychoderelict
tour. When the themes are done, they will be combined to provide material
for a Lifehouse type concert. No indication of what the music will sound
like. Given the folks he's working with, it might be New Age type
electronica.
The other topic under discussion is the multimedia applications of Pete's
ideas. So far, he's written a script and a novella for "The Boy Who Heard
Music" and while we were reading and commenting on the novella, it seems
Pete was working on music for it, which he said on Towser TV yesterday would
make up a mini-opera that he would take on tour. It wasn't clear whether he
meant with The Who or solo.
>As far as the other songs and recordings, you're talking about The Who,
right? Can you summarize whatever Who related info was mentioned? The
whole fake Cockney, celebrity, name drop luvvie-fest atmosphere of the thing
makes it painful to watch. But I would like to know what Who plans are
discussed. Would anyone who's into the whole deal mind passing on the
relevant sections? Jon, you watched it, right?
Pete said he had 23 songs and they would start recording next week. That's
all we know. Again, it's not clear whether this is all material for The Who
or whether he's planning a second piggy-back solo tour. Presumably Roger
will or has already listened to this and picked out songs he thinks he can
sings, and Pete will make arrangements for the others. Clearly there will
be a woman's part in TBWHM, but they didn't say anthing about how it might
be produced for the tour.
That's my take on it, anyhow.
