um, I know. someone stated something to the effect that the last "natural
substance" deemed illegal in the UK was magic mushrooms and I asked if like,
marijuana was a "natural substance" since it's a form of plant life like magic
mushrooms are. I assume pot is also illegal in the UK. I misread that statement
obviously (surprised?)
I actually feel that people have the right to use whatever drug they choose.
you're only harming yourself in the end. unless of course it has a negative
effect on your family life. people know the negative effects of these drugs and
if they feel they wanna use them anyway, then hey, fine. just be prepared to
suffer for it in the end. I don't use any, so.
it's interesting. I saw on TV once where most people who use pot are actually
"yuppie, businessmen, family" types and it has no effect on their family life
nor their jobs at all. and like you said, doctors have recommended pot to
patients. and besides the examples you mentioned, melissa etheridge for example
admitted to using it while coping with pain from radiation treatment to get
over her breast cancer. I for one don't really believe in anything doctors say
(making money from the sick is not the kind of profession I prefer..) but it
seems pot does have its positive sides and that's one of them.
the whole "pot is illegal" thing started when clothing made from hemp was
selling extremely well back in....the 1930's I believe which was tough on the
people making clothes out of other materials. and I think there may have been
some sort of "government connection" and so in the end, pot was illegal. I
probably got alot of things wrong and/or alot of things left out of the story so the
following weblink will hopefully give an insightful look at the whole pot
illegality thing:

they say that pot leads to other drugs whereas actually, tobacco leads to
other drugs since it seems most pot users who may go on to harder substances were
actually tobacco smokers for a while for starters. y know, the legal stuff..
the stuff that is taxed..
not gonna use it myself though. mainly 'cause there are no dealers around
where I live. HA! ; ) actually, at least for the moment, i'm fine the way I
am. may have to lose weight but I can do that pretty easily.
