Yes, I remember that scene.  That "quarter" of the film was written by Quentin Tarantino.  QT always said he was a big Who fan; but he never found a way of fitting a Who song into the soundtrack of one of his films.

If I remember rightly, doesn't something gruesome happen to Ted the Bellhop later on?

I think it may have been so gruesome that I've blocked the memory from my mind.
