WAG Download

It's getting late in the day on Tuesday, and still no "Wire and Glass"
download at the US iTunes. Still, I'm now the proud owner of a download.
Here's how it went: I located someone in Europe who would download it for me
and sent the cost, plus a little bit for his trouble by Paypal, and he
recoded the files as mp3 in case they were somehow encoded for just UK
players and sent them to me. I also asked for a copy of the download
receipt, just in case there's any question. I'm sure iTunes won't be happy
about it, but the way they have their operation set up makes a niche for a
middle man.

This is a good scheme as long as folks are honest about the downloads. If my
buyer makes an iTunes download for my payment, then the money goes to Pete
and Roger and the songs go one more notch up the charts. However, if he
doesn't make the download for me, then it's stealing from Pete and Roger.

Because you pay for downloads this way, I'd recommend it to anyone who's
thinking about having a friend send them the files without paying. There's
a lot riding on whether this EP is successful, so we should all go through
the proper channels. That way the music industry knows The Who can still
put out good music and that they fans want to buy it!

P.S. It sounds great. I'll have more critical comments later.
