Gerry and The Pacemakers we good enough to be produced by Sir George
Martin..
I might add to the discussion.

Peter Noone had a succession of hits written by Graham Gouldman who also
wrote
hits for The Yardbirds, then later Jeff Beck, The Hollies, 10cc, and
numerous others.

You want to hear one of the greatest *clean* electric guitar sounds ever,
played
by Jimmy Page on the recording (there are two, this is the better, from the
45 rpm
single, not album track) of Gouldman's hit for Herman's Hermits (Peter
Noone's band)
called "Listen People."

The Hermit's and Hoiman were good enough to share the bill with The Who->
too....! Noone has a huge following, ableit middle aged women, that adore
him without caution....

I was 15 and in love for the first time when this was a hit...talk about OLD
!!!

AEB~
