I saw Tenacious D at the Brighton Centre at the weekend.

They started their encore with F*** Her Gently, which had everyone laughing. Then everyone sung along to Tribute. And then, for the final song of the night, they played this Tommy medley.

I was screaming with excitement, even before Kyle started playing the fast part of the Pinball Wizard intro. Kyle Gass IS one of the best acoustic guitar players around at the moment. If he keeps practicing then, by the time he's 62, he may be as good as Pete!

I was quite near the front. And, during the whole medley, I was going absolutely NUTS. I'm sure Jack Black noticed me - he seemed to be singing it just for me. He was standing in front of me, and looking right at me, and was feeding of my energy.

The line "From Soho down to Brighton" got a big reaction from the local crowd - much more when The Who sang the same words here a few months earlier.

At first, "There's a Doctor" seemed a strange choice of song to include. There were lots of puzzled looks at this point. People thinking "What the hell is this?" But it did allow JB to give a great comedy pantomime performance.

"See Me, Feel Me" and "Listening To You" was a fantastic end of the night for everyone. By this point, everyone else was joining in the singing / pointing at the stage along with ME.

Mark, thanks for the Head-up on this. If I hadn't of known about it, I would have just EXPLODED when The D starting playing Pinball Wizard. The excitement would have just been too much.
