Some of you Beatles fans may enjoy this. It's a very detailed (and long) book, written by a fan, on the subject of the Revolver album. Available free online here:

This bit caught my eye:

Pete Townshend of The Who must have heard
an advance copy of Revolver, or at least "Tomorrow Never
Knows", as he went into the studio at the beginning of August
1966 to record a kind of pocket Revolver in the EP track
"Disguises", which features a droning backing, echoing,
discordant sound effects and an "Eastern" tinged vocal.

I doubt very much that Pete would have heard an early version of "Tomorrow Never Knows", and then created Disguises based on it. Although I've never noticed it before, I can sort of see a similarity between the drumming patterns and background noise. But this is just due to both songs being based on the new emerging style of music at the time.

Has anyone else ever noticed the link between Disguises and any of Revolver? Or is the author just clutching at straws here?
