thank you alan. I'm a lyricist after all. may I call your attention to one
of the greatest comedy specials I've seen, robert wuhl's "assume the
position", which isn't a "stand up" per se, meaning a comedian in front of an audience
doing his/her thing. rob is in an actual college classroom with actual college
students, and he teaches them (and us TV viewers) the truth on some of
history's most well known myths. and one of them involves paul revere (no, not the
leader of a band that deserves a place in the rock n' roll hall of fame, the
"other one") and another dude named israel bisle. seems paul revere's "midnight
ride" lasted for about a few states whereas israel's ride went through WAY
more states, and yet no one has heard of him. like you said, you thought I was
doing dennis miller, because it's a very obscure reference. as for snoop dogg,
I was thinking of doing that, but figured it was too easy. tee-hee.
anyway, "assume the position" is highly recommended if it ever comes on HBO
again.
may I also recommend the documentary "hacking democracy", but that's
something else.
