Roger's Voice

I was in Chicago too, and when Rog came out he was killer. I told my
daughter that his voice sounded as good as ever and I was ecstatic
(because to me that's the wildcard in Who shows now). Unfortunately,
things started going downhill, maybe after Fragments. It turned out that
it might have been because of that allergy to weed that forced him to
miss My Generation. His mic swinging was even worse than his voice
though, which was weird to me, so I was a bit disappointed, mostly
because I paid so much for the show and I don't know if I'll see another
so I put a lot of expectations on it. Also, I don't get drunk or high so
I'm completely objective about how the show is going. I really enjoyed
it all the way through the mini-opera though, and after he got his
allergy taken care of he did an amazing WGFA. Unfortunately, by this
time I was so freaked out that he might have been backstage dying that I
was somewhat oblivious to that and the Tommy section. You bet I'm still
going to get the DVD though.

Big disappointment.
Yeah! What Casey said! eff'n right! LOL.
Casey: How was Rog's mic swinging? Just kidding!
Seriously, did it ruin the show for you, or do you feel ripped off?
I can understand someone new to The Who feeling ripped off, but if
you're a Who freak and have been paying attention, you have to factor in
the age of the band members and their abilities. Pete can get a new
pick, switch guitars, rearrange the song for electric
or acoustic. Roger only has one set of vocal chords. Oh, and
he also needs the same passageway to breath, swallow and smile.
Which 5 songs sounded good? Were they in the beginning of the show, in
the middle or the end?
IMHO, if their doing their best and putting a lot of energy forth, I
cut any act a lot of slack. I cut Roger extra slack because I
know his track record. This is not objective, but I know how
hard it is to perform in front of a live audience.
