Great review, Ernie. I just finished watching the DVD.
> very interesting that they had pete in interview but no roger. what's up with
> that I ask you? no godfrey either..
Who knows why Roger isn't in it. The Pete interview snippets are worth
the price alone. I also enjoyed Chris Stamp's comments.
> it's nice to see something like this that showcases John's extreme bass
> playing talent that will never be surpassed.
If you like that, you should check out that Bass Master Class DVD that
was just released a few months ago.
> John's mother and her wonderful anecdotes....and John's son chris
> of course, whom I never saw really until this.
Plus, the quick comment from Mandy Moon. Nice to see her.
> funny that ray manzarek from the doors talked about what a great bassist
> John was. why is it funny? cause the doors never had a bass player, and
> John wasn't a doors fan because of that! ha.
When did John say he wasn't a Doors fan? I must've missed that comment.
I thought it was cool seeing Manzarek in the documentary. (I'm a Doors
fan.)
The Doors (Inc.) have some neat things lined up for the near future: A new
box set featuring 2-disc versions of all their albums. A large coffee-table
book with rare pictures. A feature-length movie/documentary (a' la The Who)
produced by Law & Order's Dick Wolf. And other items to celebrate
what's being billed as the band's 40th anniversary in 2007. I can't wait.
