Gary Glitter.  No question.  He was over the top, larger-than-life, 
mugged shamelessly for the audience (all of those are good things, 
BTW), and sang adequately.  Proby was simply painful to watch in just 
about every respect.  FWIW I saw both of them in person multiple 
times.
