Clarification on John's voice - H&H

OK, something's probably gone bozonkers with the Digest...I just got
one with 67 messages in it going back to April 13.
Included the following:

Ah, OK. 2002 sets off all the bells when it comes to John/The Who
since the only shows they did that year (as TED) were the warmup
shows in England where they released the beast and played jams and a
setlist like hadn't been seen in 25 years. <sigh>.

Yep. John's singing deteriorated while not on tour, with all the
smoking and not practicing, but going out made him exercise it
regularly and it sharpened right up after a couple weeks on the road.
