who reference on "the simpsons"

not sure if anyone saw it, but last night's episode of "the simpsons" 
featured a cameo by none other than pete and roger.  the scenario involved rob reiner 
(I assume voiced by the real one) doing a promotion for L.A. to be the city 
to carry a football team over springfield and announced that he had assembled 
an all-star cast of celebs to which they showed a "we are the world" group 
singing type thing with pete and roger, the way they looked in the episode where 
the who were featured, in the last row amongest the likes of Jack nicholson 
and.... oh, I forget. roger even got a closeup singing with some alien looking 
figure.  as if that wasn't enough, a snippet of John Lennon's "nobody Loves you 
when you're down and out" was featured and even charlie chaplin had a cameo.   
 quite surprised I must say. : )
