Saw the matinee of this today as this day marks the Cabaret's final two
performances of THE WHO'S TOMMY.
As Greg initially said, the band was incredibly tight and suitably energized
by the Who's music.
My daughters and I had a great time and sat center stage right by the stage.
Excellent seats!
My only criticism and I remarked as much on the feedback card was that they
needed more hand props for "The Acid Queen" and "Cousin Kevin"...they need to
have some physical demonstration that the Queen is going to inject Tommy with
drugs. And it would be nice to see a cigarette being crushed into Tommy's
arm when Cousin Kelly (nee Kevin) sings "maybe a cigarette burn on your
arm/would change your expression to one of alarm."
Definitely a great Who moment. And the pre-show and intermission were filled
with Who music, mostly from MBBB/Who's Greatest Hits type collections. Also
nice montages from TKAA interspersed with ads for the Cabaret.
