ROGER DALTREY - Moonlighting (Sanctuary):

Daltrey's solo career has always taken a backseat to
The Who, a fact reflected in the patchy quality of
this retrospective culled from his infrequent albums
and assorted other sources.

His early 70s efforts enjoyed a modicum of success
(One Man Band, Giving It All Away), but Daltrey was
never much of a writer, leaving him largely dependent
on the quality of his collaborators. He tried a number
of different styles, none very successfully, and this
two-CD set proves that he is indisputably at his best
breathing life into Pete Townshend's compositions.
