THE WHO star ROGER DALTREY has blasted the British government for
failing to employ simple solutions to stamp out internet child
The MY GENERATION legend's bandmate PETE TOWNSHEND was arrested as part
of an internet paedophilia swoop in 2003, but was ultimately cleared
after assuring police he only visited a website once while he was
researching child abuse for his biography.
And Daltrey - who supported Townshend throughout the ordeal - has
commended his rocker pal for proving how easy it is to gain access to
child porn sites and finance the criminals who run them.
But the gravel-voiced singer can't understand why British politicians
are failing to tackle the problem and abolish it.
He says, "What's really amazing is that nobody answers the question he
(Townshend) wanted answering: 'Why can't they stop it?'
"If you give your credit card details, the banks must know who you're
dealing with. The servers can stamp it out. What the f**k is going on at
government level? It's because there's too much money being made."
