Saw Styx last night at the Grand Casino in Biloxi (also won enought at
Roullette and BlackJack to pay for drinks and food and still have $10 leftover).
Before the show, at least 3 Who songs were played over the PA (MG, ICSFM, BBE).
BUT, right before Styx came out, as the house lights went down, the PA volume
went way up and the end of WGFA blared throughout the house (big scream till
the end) and then Styx came out and launched into their opening number. Think
that band might be fans of The Who? One of their guitarists and lead singers
(long blonde hair and goatee) was doing windmills at one point, also. It was
a pretty good show. I actually place it above the Aerosmith show I saw over
the summer. Less bells and whistles, naturally, but a better musical
performance I thought and more overall energy. Aerosmith relies on Tyler for 95% of
stage energy, whereas Styx really had 3 guys who were very active. Styx
drummer was better than Joey Kramer, IMHO, also.
