CHART-TOPPING singles, albums and DVDs from Kelly and
Ozzy Osbourne, Morrissey and The Who helped music
group Sanctuary ring up a 15% rise in first-half

With touring artists managed by the group appearing at
every major music festival across Europe this summer,
chairman Andy Taylor is confident of another
successful year.

Among recording successes in the first half were the
Christmas number one single Mad World by Gary Jules,
the Strokes' second album Room on Fire, which hit
number two, and Belle and Sebastian's Dear Catastrophe
Waitress, which sold more than 250,000.

In music DVD sales Bob Marley and the Undertones'
releases were followed by The Who's The Kids are
Alright, which topped the charts.

Turnover soared by 41% to £89m in the six months to
the end of March and headline pre-tax profits grew by
15% to £6.9m. Earnings per share rose 15%, to 1.58p.

During this summer Sanctuary-managed acts or ones
whose merchandising it handles that are on tour
include Elton John, Norah Jones, Seal, Primal Scream
and The Who.
