(I suppose they mean June 9th)

Music & Movie Festival kicks off with 'Tommy'

WEDNESDAY: See them. (Ann-Margret and Roger Daltrey in
"Tommy.") Hear them. (The Who's great score, with a
live warmup set by alt-rock quintet Thoughtcloud.)
Feel them. (The grass and wind between your toes.) OK,
maybe this is a little overwrought, but hey, so was
Ken Russell's exercise in excess, which, after the
passage of nearly 30 years, has graduated into the
category of guilty pleasures, nowhere near as good as
"Quadrophenia" but a hell of a lot better than "Sgt.
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" -- and a fitting
choice for the 11th annual Music & Movie Festival in
Stevens Square Park. Upcoming films include "Beat
Street" on June 16 and David Byrne's "True Stories" on
June 23. (8:30 p.m. Wednesdays thru July 21, 18th St.
& 2nd Av. S., Mpls. Free. 612-871-7307 or
www.theredeye.org)
